15-year-old Patrick McCardle (Zac Efron) doesn't know what to do with his life (or have one) and the pressure from his dad (William R. Moses)and mom (Tonja Walker)is not helping. But soon he falls in love with horseback riding. He wants to win the Steeplechase Derby on his horse Rusty. With the help of his new friend Jill Overton (Crystal Hunt) and his trainer Houston Jones (Bill Cobbs), he thinks he can beat his riding enemy Randy Adams (Michael Nardelli), but then disaster strikes...​
